Just hit my 8 hour mark on my z465! Going too try and change the oil this week my manual recommends 10w 30 but I saw someone talking about using 5w30 for their z465 on here.. I know nothing about motor oils.. Can anyone enlighten me..

If the manual recommends 10W30, then I'd use 10W30.

Generally the manual knows best! Not always though.

If you don't use the manual recommended oil, you may void your warranty. Why risk it?

Just went through this with my Z445. You may want to reread the manual The chart for the viscosity changes with the air temp in the summer you can and should move up higher when the air temp goes above 100f. I go with rotella t6 full synthetic ( 5w 40 ) API SJ or higher after break in. I wrote and got a response from Deere and Rotella saying This would be good for year round. At 0- 122 f Your 465 may be different but I doubt the oil would be.
