Yep, gotta be kind to those deck belts--1/2 speed throttle when engaging the PTO and then rev up.

Would have to reference the owners manual. Kubota dealer should be able to get one for you quickly if they don't have one in stock.

When you say "under load", do you mean full throttle in high grass with the mowing deck down? That's what I think of when hearing "under load"...

I agree that the PTO should only be engaged with mowing deck up and at half throttle. However, I wouldn't think a quality belt would snap just because it was engaged at full throttle. Am I overestimating the strength of these belts?

Good luck on finding a replacement... nothing a quick call or visit to the dealer can't take care of.

The deck was down, in grass, but the area i was setting on was already cut. All spindles were free and no obstuctions, I really dont know what happened. I was at full throttle when I engaded the blades, always am. Lesson learned and $75 later: raise the deck and engage blades at half throttle. FYI for anyone else who needs a deck belt for a 48" Kommander- part number K5579-36710

How is the cut quality on your kommander? Do these mowers have a really awesome cut? I see that the deck is 5 inches deep.

I don't have anything to compare it to other than the 40 year old Gravely it replaced.

I will say I am 100% satisfied with the cut. It cuts super-even, has loads of lift with 18,000 rpm blade tip speed, and even mowing at full ground speed, it doesn't miss anything.

My yard looks so great after I'm done mowing each week, I will often sit there and just stare admirably at my grass.

X2.... Very even, nice cut. I mow at 3.5", looks like I have a striping kit installed but I dont. Im sure this is due to high lift blades, blade speed and the 5" deep deck. Very impressive.....

40-year-old Gravely........gotta say that gives me even a warmer and fuzzier about my long term investment in my Pro-Turn 100 XDZ!!!!!!

It should! My '74 Gravely still had a lot of good years left in it. I just didn't need the versatility any longer--my Kubota does only one thing--cut grass--and it does it very well!
