Just purchased used Deere Z-445 Zero turn mower with the Kawasaki V-Twin engine. It's getting close to the 200 hour mark for checking valve clearance.

I'm very familiar with Kawasaki V-twins, as I have done all maintenance on all of my 7 owned Kaw V-twins. However, even getting to the valve to check clearance is different on each and certainly appears different on the Z-445. I also do not know what the intake/exhaust clearance should be set.

Is there any place that might sell a much more technical book on servicing this mower, or can someone please give some advice as to the valve settings and how to get cover, etc off to get to valves.

TIA

0.005 inch is where I set all the newer kawi's. The older ones like as much as 0.010 inch clearance.

Thanks for the specs on valve clearance. I've got a service manual on the way from Deere that should explain how and what to remove to get to valves.
