Greeting all,

First time posting as I am currently at a loss or am in denial.

I have a Husqvarna YTH2448 with a brand new transmission maybe 20 hours operation time. I also replaced the drive belt 2 days ago.

My problem is the mower will only move in reverse (Pulls very strong). I am able to temporarily have the mower move forward by playing with the shifter but then quickly slams into reverse very violently.

I have checked all the belts and tensioners and them seem tight.
I have manually turned the transmission without the belt attached and the am able to make the mower move forward.
I have looked at the linkage and everything seems to be intact and functioning correctly.

Is my transmission broken again? What else could be causing this reverse problem?

Update: I found a problem with the linkage and tightened a few nuts. I also needed to adjust a bolt on the hand lever speed control when I noticed the bolt with the spring that travels into the transmission was not fully traveling along the path.

The lawnmower now moves forward but very very slow. It moves faster in reverse. Still working on it but I am getting somewhere.

You need to check the linkage again its not going has far has it should be.

I figured it out.

Turns out the bolt that holds the front of the trans in place was missing. Replacing with a new bolt allowed the trans to line back up correctly with everything and now I have full forward and reverse control. It was only of 1/4 of an inch out of place, crazy it caused so much trouble.

If anyone has a similar issue check your bolts are tight :)

Fixed!
