Hi all,
having difficulty with this 10yr old machine.
started it up yesterday morning and it died.
what i did :
1. checked spark- yes.
2. fuel is pumping
3. i sprayed some starting fluid into the air inlet and once it catches, it just dies.
thoughts? compression issue?

lack of fuel or old fuel would be my guess. Maybe the choke is not closing properly
Try again but keep on giving it short shots of starter fluid for say a minute
If it keeps running ( badly ) that confirms you are getting no fuel
So the next thing is to check that the carb solenoid is retracting when you turn the key on
At this time of year it is common for them to be gunked up and not working properly
