So I ran over a rope and bound up the blades. I removed the trash. Now when I pull the electric switch, it won't engage the blades. Well, sometimes the clutch will engage for a moment then stop. Sometimes it wont move at all. Did I burn up the clutch? Thanks in advance for any advice.

A better chance is that there is still stuff around a blade or 2. First thing I would do is disconnect belt and make sure all the blades and idler pullies spin freely and quietly.
Thanks for the reply. I took the belt off the clutch and watched the pulley as I engaged the switch. If it moves at all, it will only move for about a second, then stop.
