I have a 2015 YT3000 21HP B&S riding mower. It has recently developed a problem where it will cut off after 5 to 10 minutes of cutting grass, but it will restart without the PTO engaged. It runs a bit hot too. It sounds like it bogs down and nearly shuts off all together but will restart with a little coaxing. I am thinking it might be something in the fuel delivery side. Could it be:
- Bad gas?
- Is the inline fuel filter supposed to be full at any time or does it matter? There is only a bit in there at rest.
- Could it be a clogged jet in the carb?
- My other idea was that it could just be a dead battery, but the battery is a year old.
Any tips you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Upon further inspection, I identified the culprit. The fuel line going into the filter had a kink in it and was restricting fuel flow to the the engine. Check your hoses!
