After replacing the solenoid and ignition on my yardbug, I went to start it and all I got was clicking, so I know the pto switches the seat switch and the ignition switch are working, I am not sure about the battery,or the starter. The battery shows its ok on a battery tester so I cant figure out the clicking when I turn the key. maybe someone out there has had this problem and can help. thanx
I usually just take a screwdriver to bridge(short) it, all you are doing is transferring voltage from battery side of solenoid to solenoid starter side. Caution sparks will fly.
You could also hook a wire to battery + then touch(other side of your wire) to solenoid post(starter side) or the tab where orange wire connects to solenoid.
You said starter clicking, do you mean solenoid clicking? I would touch the wire to the starter lead, does starter turn? I believe the battery needs to be load tested, to rule it out.
Sorry, it was the solenoid clicking, I ran a wire from +post to starter, it started jumping but didnt wind up. I'll take the battery in for a load test and get back to you.

Finally got it working, I would have never guessed, but this 2 year old battery was no good. Got a new battery and it started right up. Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it.
