I have a 10 year old Yardbug . recently I was driving it and it suddenly stopped. This has happened before when one of the drive belts broke, when I replaced the belt it was fine. This time I replaced both belts although the old belts seemed fine. but when I put the gear shift in forward and try to drive it the thing wont move. the gas pedal is very stiff and it feels like the belts are going to start smoking.
I restored one of these for my father....unique little machines. Make sure the shift cable is activating the lever on transaxle for F-N-R lever. If that is engaging then make sure input pulley on top of transaxle is spinning and secured to input shaft. If all that works and machine don’t try to move then you have internal transaxle problems. The motion pedal will be stiff if the brake is engaged or belt incorrectly routed?
