I was curious about the K46 Hydrostat in my new X300. I don't have any hills or slopes in my yard but noticed my transaxle gets pretty warm to the touch after a hour of use which I assume is normal considering the hydrostats have a cooling fan,I guess to keep the fluid cool?? My old Craftsman has a manual transaxle which never gets hot and I've used to pull dump carts of dirt, mulch or whatever and have for years with zero issues,I also pull my sweeper during the summer but more so in the fall. Will the X300 hold up to light loads say 50-80lbs of dirt and pulling a sweeper to get up leaves and grass clippings? Thanks a bunch!!
I too have a flat yard and plan to haul IAW the owner's manual - do not exceed the weight of the mower and operator. The mower weighs in at 556# plus my 180#, so I won't hesitate to haul a cart full of dirt.

Pulling a lawn sweeper, cart of dirt, etc should not be a problem. Pulling your pickup out of the ditch is a no-no.

so I pull stuff with my craftsman with a hydro rear end and I have had no problem as far as it getting hot
there is fluid moving around in there all the time and with the standard transmission it has grease not fluid
so that is why it did not get hot.
