Hi all, new here just hoping someone could help please.
My three year old John Deere x106 has got a problem with twisting belts. It went back to the dealer who put a new belt on but not long after it twisted then snapped. I have since replaced the belt again and exactly the same thing. What could be causing this? Pulleys seem fine to me but I'm no expert. I've read about belt tensioning but mine has the welded type so I can't slip it back.. it's getting to the stage I just want to trade it in and not go near another John Deere again.
Thanks.

Are you sure are putting on Kevlar belt? IPL is showing a 42C deck with uses a 1/2 x 103.75 belt. I haven't seen any problem with the 42C deck here and I used Stens 265-826 belts. I did just switched over to PIX belts but I haven't install one on the 42C deck yet.

According to the IPL the 42C deck uses a spring load idler arm so the tension is automatic.

Belts roll because
Too Loose
Pulley worn
Pulley out of axial alignment
