I have a John Deere X300 I bought new in 2009 and have never had trouble with it. Now it will not start. Battery is okay, fuel is okay, but not getting a spark. I have read through several threads and it appears based on what I have read the cause is either the coil or the small control module under the dash. Is there a way to test either of these to narrow it to one or the other and avoid spending unecessary dollars on both?
95% of the ones I've seen has been the module under the dash. The new module part number ends in 75 as last two numbers I don't remember the rest of it the older ones are known to fail. even the newer ones seen a few of them fail also
