Does carb have a silver metal cylinder on the bottom/side with wires going to it?
If so, make sure it is opening when you turn the key...you should feel it with you finger against it/and or hear it click.
Fuel is not getting through you carb.
Choke might not be closing all the way...so engine can not pull gas into cylinder...least likely since when it is running with spray it should pull in fuel
Jet in carb may be stopped up with some debris...most likely
