Wintering Over

This year I had some container plantings I really liked. If I had a green house I could easily "winter them over". They're perrenials, but not deer resistant, so I didn't transplant them into the ground. Do you think they would make it if I put them in a corner of the shed? How much to water?

Are you saying that the plants are not suited for your winter climate?
If thats the case they will have to be in a space that will not freeze, and that gets some sun light...

My mom use to take in a lot of plants to winter over... then spring , they went outside... :smile:KennyV

As perrenials, they probably go dormant in the winter. If they were planted in the ground, the roots would be taking in some moisture, so I would say that a little moisture now and then is more key than sunlight.

Absolutely ...
and with potted plants that you bring indoors LOTS of water, they really dry out trying to humidify the heated air inside your house... :smile:KennyV

One thing my wife does in the summer is she uses some of our houseplants in her containers. She does this to help rejuvinate them, and they really do well outside. In the winter, because they are houseplants, it's not a problem to bring them in.
