How many of you guys (and ladies) like wind chimes? I'm a huge chime freak. I have 'em hanging from the eave of the porch, from trees, from the barn door opening, just about everywhere. I love the free music on a cool, windy day.

I like them a lot, but my husband says they grate on his nerves. Since he doesn't go anywhere near my gardening shed, I get to have one there!

We have a couple, one small one by the garage door on the flag pole & a big one I made from 1-1/2" thinwall metal conduit. The big one made too much noise, so I keep it tied back most of the time! ~~ grnspot110

I have 6 or 7 hanging from the awning on the front porch. Wife loves them.

I LOVE wind chimes. I like the contrast of big and small and metal and wooden, they all have their own unique sound. I have them hanging everywhere.

My mother loved them. There's one still hanging outside, but it doesn't do much. I like the idea of them, though. They can be so pretty.

Wind chimes are incredibly awesome. They light up our lives with song. That sounds corny, but I agree that it's a joy to hear them in the breeze.

For ones that don't do much, try adding something to the swinger to help catch the wind. We use lids from butter tubs - they catch a lot of wind and help to make much more music!

I agree with you.......!! Metal wind chimes are very unique and produce a beautiful sound like music.

I second that sentiment.

Wind chimes are simply............ANNOYING.
Background noise should be something you can tap your foot too, or learn from.
To each his own I suppose.

Why is her cooking that bad? I'd be gettin hungry everytime I heard chimes if they reminded me of home cookin.

Depending on the situation,..the sound of silence can be...deafening!

Wind chimes are ok with me but my favorite sounds are natural sounds, such as a gurgling brook, wind in the trees, the ocean waves, a whipoorwill or a childs laughter.

A good friend of mine had 5 or 6 beer kegs suspended from a giant tree limb. It took a pretty good wind to get them going but once they started "bonking" together, it was about all you could hear.
He's gone now , but, I think his neighbors still have a contract out on him.

My sister has some at RoadRunner Ranch that look like 3 miniature cow bells hanging from a horse shoe. When I visit to work on some of her equipment I take a roll of aluminum foil and stuff the dam - ding - a - ling - things with foil. She always finds them stuffed and discards the foil so I must keep a roll of foil in my pick - um - up truck.
