Over the last three years I have been cultivating a wild flower garden. It has been so satisfying and so EASY. I wanted to attract butterflies, so I just bought seed for plants they like, tossed it out there and let nature do its thing! Any other attempts out there?

I've never had a garden before to try this but it sounds great. I would have thought this method would cause some problems with plants fighting for space but it seems to have worked well for you. I'd love to see some photographs if you have any.

My wife did this but she used pots. She just threw some mixed seeds in four huge pots on our patio and we have a grand mix of wild flowers in all colours every Spring. Yes, they attract some wonderful butterflies too.

I would like to attract butterflies and hummingbirds to my property and cut down on mowing at least part of a big hill. The wildflower garden sounds like it's just what I need. It'll look great on the hillside.
