 Was cutting last evening,, 72 and sunny, no phone calls, honey doos, only the sound of leaves mulching up, along with thick green " fall grass", Seeing how straight I can cut with the X320,,,, I guess there are other Grass heads out there,,,,,, I will never forget as a young man, my uncle, a grocery store owner in a small town, would only cut his grass at his club house, with a walk behind old snapper, when I asked him why he was cutting his own grass he replied " Cause I enjoy it" I thought he was nuts! But now I think I "get it".......:confused2:

Yes, it is a sickness, and you should go to your doctors immediately!

Nah, I enjoy mowing too.

It's called "seat time", and the bigger the tractor, the bigger the smile. Try it with a 4 cylinder diesel some some time.:cloud9:

Would that be "cheating on my deere?"

Your "mower" won't hold it against you, it will just make her work harder for your favor.
Since when is a "Deere" temperamental?

You are so Right.. Just realized... about ALL my fun mowers are 4 cylinder Diesels...
ZTR is a 4 cylinder Kubota...
Mid size tractor is a 4 cylinder Kubota...
Big tractor is a 4 cylinder Perkins ...
All with cabs and always with smiles. :smile:KennyV

O ya you're talking my language. Mowing on a rider is such a good time, I wish I had a need for one but only time I get to use one is at my father-in-law's. And it's just a weed eater from home depot, not a vintage 1986 LT16, but it's great cruising around with the grass spitting out the side. But walking behind my old self-propelled snapper is still my favorite. Do wish I "needed" a tractor though.

Call it the green zone, or green room I enjoy it too, and it gives you time to just block everything else out....

I guess I'm a little sick also. In March I start cleaning waxing and servicing my tractors for the season. I think I start cutting before the lawn has grown long enough. I think of it as quality time in the yard. I have three gt's set up for yard work. One is for cutting grass, one for grass and leaf pick up and one for grading and hauling. My wife uses the hauling tractor for weeding and landscaping. My larger tractor only has a 2 cyl diesel, but I smile just as well.

My smile does wear off by the end of the summer, but it come back every spring.

Another thing that puts a big goofy smile on my face is cleaning my mowers. If I had a good rider I would enjoy it even more but my 3 snapper push mowers I really like cleaning. Blowing off grass on the deck, wiping off the dirt and grease, basically a full cleaning top to bottom is just something I like to do. Every time I mow I do a light cleaning to, just blow off it off with compressor and wipe off handle. Its a simple pleasure I know but, especially in spring and summer, it's great to just hang out in the garage and work on the mowers. Someday I'm sure I will buy an old LT14 or LT16 if I can find a good price. Even though I don't need one it would be fun to have. But for now the 2 sp an 1 push that I have keep me occupied.
