This mower has a pto knob on dash that engages the mower deck to the engine. After jump starting the mower (hooked starter cable directly to the starter), tried to mow but when pulled, the pto knob didn't engage the cutting deck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the fuses to make sure they didn't blow. If the fuses are good, then check to make sure you are getting 12 volts to the electric clutch under the front of the mower.
If that doesn't show any problems, then post back and somebody will give you more detailed advice.
