"Always try to have one side free from uncut grass, which allows air to be drawn into the mower"

The above is in regard to not having the deck too low as a minimum amount of air is required for the grass to be properly cut O.K., so far so good, but the "one side from from uncut grass" statement has me puzzled.

Anyone have a clue as to what the one side etc. statement means...?

One side...huh?

Thanks!

When I mow, The front side is almost always uncut... and the rear is usually completely cut... right side is generally discharging grass & the left side varies... that only leaves tne top side and bottom side... they normally remain constant... :smile:KennyV

I assume that this is a statement regarding bagging, and the ability of the mower to suck up all the clippings. But it does beg the question" Has the author of these instructions ever actually thought about that statement?". As Kenny points out, the rear is always open, and after the first trip into a yard, one side or the other is always open, and both sides will be open on the last swipe.
