I was just thinking, now that it is getting colder, DOES WEATHER WHEN IT GOES DOWN TO THE 50's AT NIGHT SLOW DOWN THE GRASS? Or does grass just like sun, and any weather that is not near freezing. Will grass grow just as fast if it is 80 and sunny compared to 50 and sunny? Or is warmer better? I know that now that there is less daylight (the sun doesn't get as high in the sky), will slow it down a little, but how about the temperature??

There is no precise figure, as the temperature sensitivity of grass
depends on the species, variety and conditions. Most native and
naturalised grasses will grow as long as they are not actually
frozen - it is the lack of light that stops them growing in the
winter, not the cold.

Actually it is the cold below freezing nights, also. But it is the lack of sun, too.

Grass can go dormant for a number of reasons, it can experience periods of drought, heat, cooler conditions or lack of sunlight all can adversely affect grass. It also can go dormant for differing lengths of time depending on its genetics and overall health.

Here in North Central Oklahoma and with our predominately Bermuda grass when the night temperatures getting in the 50's the grass slows down. It will still need trimming if the days temps are in the 70's and 80's but not weekly.
