What is this bug?

I have a small edible shrub in my backyard. Lately, I noticed some bugs that I have never seen before, or on any other shrubs. Attached is a photo of the bugs. They are about 1/8" long (with a common ant in comparison) , black with white dots. I don't see much damage yet, but I assume they suck the sugary juice out of the trunk. Can anyone identify what they are, and how to get rid of them? Thanks.

Very bad invasive species. They are spotted lanternflies.

Here is an article about them

Interesting. I thought I know lanternflies and we had a lot of them last year in NJ. They are about 3/4" to 1" long with pinkish spotted wings. The ones I see today are only about 1/8" long, but looking at the photos on the website, they are also called lanternflies. Are they just nymphs of the larger pinkish ones?

I will file a report as I did last year.

Thanks for the info. I sprayed the plant with insectcide and they are gone.

If they're dangerous it's better to get rid of them. Bug traps usually help me https://www.pestproducts.com/best-bed-bug-traps/ but from time to time I have to repeat, if you know more ways, share, please.
