I have a 80s, maybe early 90s Ariens yt11 38" riding mower. I'm trying to get a bagger for it. I'm looking for a used one, as I don't want to pay $250 dollars for a new bagger (I only spent $150 for the mower itself). I have not been able to find a used Ariens bagger anywhere. I checked craigslist, and found an MTD 38" bagger for $50, and a Craftsman bagger for $75.
So my queston is, can I get any 38" bagger and put it on, or do I need an Ariens bagger?
i think the real issue is that the good deal(150.00) for the mower and the SEEMINGLY high price for the new bagger system with hardware(250.00)is backwards,and should be vise versa:smile: i'm not sure if any bagger will work without certain mods and or fab work,seeing as how it wouldn't be model specific.
Well I'm handy enough that I could modify it to fit, but then my concern would be whether or not it would still have enough suction to pickup the grass and leaves.
