I ride.
I'd rather push mow, mostly because the 20-22" push mowers are cheap. However, it takes me about 3 hours to push mow .75 acres with one of those. It's not too bad in the spring and fall, but in the middle of summer it's not too good. A nice wide walk behind shouldn't be much slower than a rider, but they are more expensive. And even a low end lawn tractor can push a little snow and tow a little weight.

Certainly good exercise. & I'm young at heart as well, it's my body that isn't. Mainly in the heat of summer.
