I can't find the Voltage Regulator on my Briggs & Stratton Intek 18.5 volt engine. It has to be there somewhere. I downloaded the diagrams but it doesn't show where it's located. Any ideas?

Depending on the engine model it not have one, but simply use a diode rectified system. Use this manual to identify which system you have. If you can’t, post back with the engine model, type and code numbers for some more help. https://www.briggsandstratton.com/c...a/en_us/Files/FAQs/alternator_replacement.pdf

Hello Fixer,

Welcome to the forum.

Not all models had an "official" voltage regulator. Briggs and Stratton used several different charging system configurations.

We need the rider product label information, and the engine valve cover stamped number or label information to be able to accurately help you.

WAG: Does the stator have a red and a white wire? The red wire will have a segment near the harness connector with an inline diode under black shrink tape.

The white wire usually goes to a headlight switch to run the lights.
