:confused2:
I have an older wheel horse tractor with a 14 H.P.Kohler engine, model k-321. The valve cover gasket has started leaking oil around it. My question is their a certain torque that you tighten up bolt that holds valve cover and gasket? also when you replace gasket with new one, do you use gasket sealant, like pertemex on it.
App.all help I can get THANKS

Rivets

Only a few small engine manufactures use a sealant. Kohler K-series is not one of them. I would never use a sealant other than the gasket. Just clean the areas of all old gasket and tighten properly. If I remember there are two gaskets on that unit. This manual might help.

:smile:Rivets is correct. All K-series gaskets are installed dry, no sealant. Just make sure the sealing areas are clean and do not forget install the rubber spacer. Holes in the breather cover go down.
