Dealer in my area has a 72" with 32hp vanguard for sale 6700 dollars. It's a 2011 demo unit with 70 hrs on it.

Is this a great deal p? He claims it retails for 12k. But I see 2013 with this setup under 10k.

I am more in the market for the 60". Which I can get for about this price new.

Will I appreciate this 72 mowing my 5 acres, it will fit everywhere I think. I am more afraid of scalping. I don't now with my 52 timecutter.

Should I go 72 on this used model, or wait and get 61 new?

WELCOME to LMF...

If your 5 acres are reasonably level, not necessarily flat, You should have no real scalping problems. If you do have any, you should be able to fix the problem with anti-scalping wheels.
The Larger mower should be more attractive for faster mowing. You will not believe the difference that extra foot will make in reducing mower time. :smile:KennyV

Looks like snapper pro is making a nice machine. But resale value doesn't hold up like other brands.

Looking at mowers reminds me of automobiles from years ago. They use a lot if the same parts, difference is in design and brand

i have a 72 inch Exmark and my yard isnt real flad but for the most part i dont have any scalping problems once i got the anti scalp wheel set like they were supposed to be how and it is alot faster then the 60 i test drove so over all im happy with it once you get use to such a big mower you will like it you have to make turns a little diffrence good luck

I have heard that before. Talking About making turns differently. Is this because of the space it takes to make the turns, scalping or not to tear up yard with tires?
