I have a two year old Troy-Bilt with a B&S 550EX. We've run No Ethanol gas since new (per Lowes' salesman) and now it won't wind up power, backfires flame through muffler, etc. Are there any tune up settings for running No Ethanol vs. Ethanol? If so, where can I get the knowledge?

No tuning available. I would start by removing the overhead valve cover and checking the valve clearances. Sounds like they may not be closing all the way. Also it will give you a chance to check the valve lift. Meaning do the valves open the same amount
Also try putting in a new plug. these new narrow gap emissions plugs are notorious for fouling out.
