well, i knew the drive pulley was loose, but its what i couldnt see that killed it...RUST...it got 1/2 way around the yard and BANG!...grind!...seized...luckily i was close to the garage...pulled the 6sp spicer 4360-96 out today...cracked the case open and found the brownest, crunchiest grease ever....broken chain...pinion gear bearing rusted dry and in dust...the deck is shot too...rust pieces the size of pizza slices and 1/8" thick were falling off

Sure looks like something I wouldn't want to spend much money on. Looks like a good parts tractor.
The pics don't tell the entire story. And it's hard to see through the gunk. I'd reserve judgment until you can see it clearly. The chain looks trashed, but chain is cheap.

I have worked on enought mowers to know the pics don't tell the entire story. You can bet there is a lot more wrong then what you see. If all it needs is a chain go for it.

yeah..it aint pretty....if i can clean it up and find some replacement parts and reassemble..i will ..but with a grain of salt and fingers crossed...best bet is find a replacement tranny and deck...but with this as an example..it shows the condition of the exterior doesnt tell you whats on the inside
if the cases are not broken and the gears are 'mostly' there... you have nothing in it at this point... You can still have a great deal with this... :smile:KennyV
