Don't know about over there but the glass fronts over here destroy the trade ins and put them in the metal recycling bin.
Some get a few bits taken off but by and large they are trashed.
Reason is simple.
No good used mowers = more new mower sales.
Down here a new mower ahs a 100% or higher retail mark up.
