Toro Z5035 runs rough

I just put new plugs fuel filter & chsnged the oil on my ZTR. The air filter will be in Monday. After doing this I started the mower & it was running real rough blowing black smoke out the exhaust. I pulled the plugs. 1 of them was covered in black soot. I put another new pllug in and it did the same thing. Its only happeniing on cylinder.

MM, when you were working on the mower, did the machine stay level, Sounds like maybe oil leaked over the cylinder, might have to clean the top end.

I jacked up 1 side to make sure I drained all the oil out of it. I only jacked it up about 3 to 4 inches. How would I clean the top end?

I let the mower sit all night & most of today. Put a new plug in & its running just fine now
