months ago I replaced deck and all related parts cost 1100. Now the camshaft broke at 300 hours! Local dealer says need new engine for 2300! Engine is Kawasaki 22hp. Funny thing is it still runs on one cylinder!! Need advice good money after bad??? Can it be repaired ???

The cam could be replaced most likely, and new lifters. Would be more labor intensive.
BUT, did the dealer tell you how they found out the cam is no more?

Question. Do Kawasakis have a history of this weakness? Had machine for 7 years -only 300 hours?? is it worth fixing? has new deck+ !! Disillushioned with Kawasaki, it was well maintained . Who can fix it ? Im just north of tampa FL. Grass is getting high lol

You can do it
Not difficult
Hardest part is removing the engine pulley .
Kawasaki manuals are availible on line as a free download.
Pars seem to be in short supply right now
