Toro ss5000 fuel question

My Toro ss5000 zero turn mower starts easily and runs great for about 20 mins. I replaced the fuel filter yesterday and the problem persists. The fuel filter does not stay full of fuel. If I squeeze or shake it while still attached to the fuel line I can get fuel in it and the mower will start right up again. Seems like a fuel pump problem. Thoughts?

Remove fuel line after fuel pump put line in something that can hold gas and crank the engine. If gas comes out the carb is dirty if not the tank or fuel lines are dirty or clogged. Losen gas cap to see if vent is clogged. If all pans out and nothing is dirty then the fuel pump is bad.
