Toro self pace mower won’t start after running fo a while.

My Toro self-pace always stared great until this year. Then it didn’t want to restart after emptying the bag. Other threads said coil, fuel line, carburetor, and gas cap. I pulled off the gas tank to empty and flush it, and a strange piece of metal fell out from behind the tank. Checking online schematics, it turned out to be part of a thermostat (photo of new one attached). Replaced it per instructions... works great again.
