Does it smoke only up hill? Sidehill left, sidehill right, downhill. Please post the model numbers for both the engine and tractor. I want to figure out how this engine is oriented.

The cylinder head gasket had some wear right in the middle and it appeared oil was able to leak.



There was a good amount of oil in both chambers, hopefully this is the problem.

Any additional info would help

Hopefully that's it. Just make sure the mating surfaces are cleaner than clean to include using a single edge razor blade. Don't know if your gasket for that motor is applied without a form of sticky / sealer or without. Make sure if it has a torquing sequence to follow it and of course the proper torque values.
