Tornado

Yesterday had a bunch of family out for bbq,around 6pm one of the kids ran out on the deck and said a tornado was spotted in Topeka.I live about 15m e. of town ,shortly thereafter it started raining then pea size hail then quarter size then golf ball size.I hearded all the kids to the cellar.about that time one of my brothers yelled to look and passing right over my barn was a tornado halfway to the ground.I was so caught up in the moment I forgot to get the camera.All I can say is wow....russ

Those things aren't fun I can hardly wait for June 1st, that's when our season starts.:frown: Have you ever seen one take a trailer park apart, it's a wild thing to watch. Hope everybody's OK

Thank heavens nobody was hurt... Hopefully no major damage was done.

sure glad everyone is ok we have had stom warnings and tornado warnings for surounding countys here and the weather just said to watch close for next 2 days

Russ, so happy no one was hurt and only minor damages...if I saw a tornado that close I'd be ready to snap a pic with my phone camera but odds are I would be so busy trying to get to safety and not poop my pants, I wouldn't take the time for a picture.

Once again, glad everything and everyone came through the ordeal okay.

KTA ALERT. MP 183 funnel clouds that were being watched have moved north of the kta. The tornado warning has expired. 7:07 PM
My brother's neighbor got a good picture of it as it passed behind their house near 45th & Gage...

Have never seen an actual tornado but back in '89 there was a windstorm that passed thru my area that had 85 mph winds...I tried to walk into the wind going to the house from my big barn, about 350 feet, and the wind blew me down several times, I ended up CRAWLING to the house...

It scared me enough then, that after all these years later if there is a tornado warning in the general area I live in, I go thru all sorts of preparations "just in case"....
