Im having a problem with my Briggs 16.5 Hp engine; I can't seem to throttle it down once I increase the throttle. (If I start it at low throttle it's fine but once I throttle it up and then try to throttle it back it stays at high throttle.) Any help would be appreciated

Start by making sure that all the linkages and shafts move freely and are not binding. I have seen throttle shafts in carbs get sticky and not return like they should.
