Hello,
While installing the sump pan after replacing camshaft one of the bolts cross threaded the opening not the bolt itself. I need to retap opening.
Motor model is 33R877-0009-G1
This is the part https://shop.briggsandstratton.com/products/briggs-and-stratton-692125-hex-screw
It seems to be a 1/4" width with 20 threads per inch. Am I right? Any advice on this fix?

Thank you in advance!

Nope. They are 5/16-18. Use Heli coil 5/16-18 repair kit with .625 or .781 inserts. The .625 will provide full strength repairs (5/16 x 2) but the .781 ones just adds a little extra insurance. As you torque the screws to 240 in/lbs.

Also be aware screw #9 in torque sequence is coated with non hardening sealant such as Permatex® 2 or equivalent.
