Do the two bearings in the deck spindle need lubrication? If so with what and how?

If you have Grease zerks then yes that is part of the maintaining of your mower.... They will be on the top or the bottom side......A grease gun will do the trick ....
IF and that's a big IF LOL..... If you don't have grease fittings on your spindles then you might have overlooked them or you ain't got none and that's odd ......
No you cannot just oil them, BUT ... They are sealed bearings and that keeps water and dirt out........... Most spindles can be disassembled and rebuilt.... New bearings and a good cleaning will restore your spindles like new again in most cases ,,,,,
I do it all the time .... Are your spindles in great shape ??? Any side play or rumbling noises from them ???? If there is a tiny tiny bit of rumbling or none at all you CAN do this fix.....
