I have a TB30 that gets real hot real fast. Has 382 engine. I had one of these before thatn I had the same problem with and chalked it up to the Troy built Engine. Am I doing something wrong or ias this engine just not a good engine. I see now the TB30 is equipped with a 10.5 B & G. ant thoughts on doing a retrofit?

When was the last time that you removed the engine cover and cleaned the cooling fins?

I keep the rear fins clean. Any fins under the front cover?

If you haven’t taken the engine fan shroud off and cleaned, you should do so. It’s an air cooled engine and air should move freely around the engine. Remove the fan shroud, clean the engine and shroud good and reattach the fan shroud.

Engine at full throttle when mowing.
