I was out mowing today and tapped the brakes as I neared the edge of the lawn when the P brake engaged. The motor fires up and runs well and the deck engages. I just can't disengaged the P brake. Any thoughts that might help or things to look for?

Thanks

Your need to remove the brake caliper (brake yoke) and clean the unit. The two pins have corroded and needs to cleaned up also the two hole needs reaming out to 5/16" with a 5/16" reamer. These is badly rusted/corroded should be replaced. Be careful as there are several parts that falls out as disassemble the calipier and pay attention to how go together.
