In looking at previous threads regarding synthetic oil, I now have a couple more questions:
Some folks seem to think you have to wait 50 hours to switch to synthetic. Why? The dealer said after the 8 hours break in, it'd be fine to replace the oil with synthetic - no waiting 50 hours.
I read on this forum you should wait 50 hours to let the engine break in with petroleum based oils. But again, I ask why? What's negatively going to happen if you change to synthetic after the first 8? And I'm not arguing against waiting, I simply want to know the logic in waiting until 50 hours of petroleum based oils is used.
Also, I just read about Rotella T Synthetic T6. Some folks seem to think this is even better than Mobil 1 - 10 W 30, but I don't know why?
