Kohler engine popping and spitting through carb , checked flywheel key ,valve operation , valve seats …….ect Only thing that I haven't checked is timing marks on cam and crankshaft ! Valves are non adjustable , torqued to specs ...new head gaskets ,push rods and hydraulic lifters ! Anyone have any suggestions
Would a faulty ignition module cause these symptoms ??

One thing I'd try is to put each valve in the wide open position and leave it overnight to collapse the lifter for that valve.
I'll give it a try Tom but they are new lifters and were collapsed when I installed , also is running the exact same way as with old lifters ! Flames come out the intake when it's trying to start !! Maybe have to remove valve (intake ) and lap the valve ??

What would happen if the battery is hooked up backwards? I dunno, but check it.
