Hi all
I have a Stihl BG55 blower with one of those carbs that have 1 adjusting screw that adjust mixture and idle. Not the usual 3 screws, high low and idle. I'm told the blower is about 8 to 10 years old. Manuals on the Stihl site do not cover this carb.
So does anyone have information on how to adjust this type of carb?
Thanks,
Randy

It's an EPA carb and, as a consequence, is not adjustable.
For Rotary valve carbs there are two possible "top Screws"
The rotary valve both rotates to act like a butterfly and raises which moves the needle higher in the needle jet thus increases the idle fuel
Some have nothing but a throttle stop screw that holds the throttle open.
Some have a needle screw that is inside the throttle which raises the needle without rotating the valve.
They are sort of a combination of a Needle slide type carb and a butterfly type carb
just need to be careful about posting service manuals and parts diagrams, because Stihl has been known to have complete websites shutdown over their manuals posted on websites.

Followed the instructions in that manual for initial settings. Started up the blower and it was a new machine. Ran perfectly with no further adjustments needed.
Very Cool.
Thanks everybody

I started a Mediacat Chain Letter thread on a couple of forums long aqo, set it up so one would send a copy for free, and in turn, the reciever would send out several to pay it forward.
It never would work, as folks got their disc and ran.
Back then Stihl was more aggressive, but not anymore. If one is selling the manuals, well, that would be entirely different.
