I have a Stihl 029 from around 1998-1999 that I don't have the service manual for. It runs fine from a cold start, but doesn't restart when hot until it cools back down again. I'm thinking that there is an adjustment that needs to be made on it, but I don't want to randomly mess around with all that without knowing what I'm doing with it. Any help would be appreciated.

Try another spark plug, and it could also be a bad coil. also make sure the carb is set up right and the right fuel mix.

Hello, another thing to check is for scoring on your piston from possible wrong fuel mix , as the engine will start from cold but as it gets hot the compression drops , best way to check is to take your exhaust off and look down exhaust port to see side of piston, with spark plug out slowly turn engine over to see if there are scratches down side of piston .
