I just picked up an old 028 ...freebie the guy said the engine is wore out ....i think im going to rebuild her ....anyone think it is worth it??

Sure, Stihl makes a great chain saw. You can take the brush cutter bar off and put a regular bar on it... should have a nice dependable small, trim saw when your finished... :smile:KennyV
 
I dug into my 028 this evening.....this is what i found. The cylinder is actually reusable (freakin miracle!!!) belive it or not ......so im going to slap a new piston in it and wonder how long it will last haha ...will try to post video of it in some wood when im finished

First I ever used was a 028, absolutely fantastic saw. Still have it now, take my advice do it up and never let it go! Do well to find a better saw ;)
