Starting a John Deere D125 Riding Mower.

Hello,
I don't mean to sound ignorant, but I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the process of starting a John Deere D25 riding lawn mower? This lawn mower is like brand new (it's only been used three times by my late husband), and I really don't want to do anything that will damage it or affect it's perrformance. In the manual it states: "Do not start or operate the machine with the bypass rod in the pulled-out position". I fail to find any diagram in the manual which identifies this "bypass rod" so I don't know what I am looking for let alone where this part of the mower is located. If anyone has any suggestions or places where I can search for this information, I would be eternally gratefull. Thank you for taking the time to read my inquiry, G Young

That's a rod on the back that you pull out to disengage the hydraulic drive unit so you can push the mower around. Be on the rear center sticking out in plain sight if like on my L130 mower.

Welcome to the forum. All questions are good questions

I'm going to move this thread over to our John Deere section.
