Hi all,
New to the forum, and new to Murray.
I have acquired a 10/30 as I've moved to a smaller house with less land and, didn't need the 46" MTD that I previously had.
The Murray was running a few weeks back, but I broke the key off in the ignition and it has been sitting until yesterday when I replaced the ignition switch and the solenoid and battery.
When I crank the 10HP Tecumseh without the plug it seems to sound fine, but with the plug back in it sort of goes whir wuh, whir wuh, whir wuh, as if it doesn't have enough to get it started.
It has the new battery and other pieces, so I figure that's all that it could be. When I short the battery to the starter terminal the same thing happens. Could the starter be weak?
Where would I get another starter for this mower, or should I have the local alternator/starter repair shop "redo" it?
Thanks... any help appreciated!
