My 20hp Briggs and stratton riding lawn mower is sitting in my garage and my ego has been damaged . The other day ,my engine could not turn over because the starter was unable to turn the fly wheel.In my thinking,I thought the starter was needing to be replaced.I bought an aftermarket starter and low and behold ,I had the same problem!
Then I did some more investigating and discovered haow difficult it was to turn the fly wheel
I took the spark plug out and heard a very audibe hiss when I turned the flywheel by hand.Put the spark plug back on and had the same problem.The fly wheel is much too difficult to turn1 No starter could turn this fly wheel.What do i do?

If the crankcase is not overfull with oil, or oil/gas, then you need to adjust the valves.
