Looking for some help I have a old SST spin steer. Wouldn’t start today I swapped starter and solenoid finally got it to start. Now it dies when I let out clutch/ brake what ever it’s called. It will start right up unless blades are engaged.doesn’t matter if I’m in seat or not. Where to start ? Thanks in advance

I’m sorry it’s a John Deere

Start with checking the seat switch.

Start with checking the seat switch.
The mower starts weather I’m in the seat or not. So bypass?

As long as you got the clutch/brake depressed you are bypassing the seat switch which keeps the run relay energized. Once you take your foot off the clutch the circuit switches over to the seat switch.

That was it. The mower is pretty old with fatigued plastic items. One of the tabs that holds the pressure on the switch had broke. Thanks
