My son's trimmer started spewing fuel so he asked me to take a look at it. 1st thing I see is the 2 hoses coming out of the grommet on the tank have rotted and snapped off at the grommet. 2nd thing I see is that there is 3 holes in the grommet, but only 2 hoses & 2 nipples on the carb. Is this thing completely missing a 3rd hose & fitting ? Nothing appears to be snapped of anywhere on the carb or engine, but I can see right into the fuel tank through the 3rd hole in the grommet and cannot find anyplace on the head where a 3rd hose could have belonged. WTF Anyone have a pic or diagram of the hoses and routing ?

Thanks for the reply! I actually found a similar pic after making this post! So when I found a short piece of black line, about 1" long inside the tank, I went searching for parts for it & found this. So evidently that vent & piece above the grommet were missing for sometime & it just started spewing the fuel out after the short piece fell into the tank. I have this part on oder.

I hope that is coming from a real small engine shop and not from Amazon / Ebay where lazyness gets it's due rewards .
There are probably 10 rubbish tank fuel lines out there for every good one
They all look good but most will fail before the season is over because the rubber is mostly cheap latex & the fuel lines are celulose plastic so will crumble over a short time once they have been used .

The small Echo line works well to replace the bad lines using the existing grommet
